DUH DUH DUUUH, DUH DUH DUUUH….come on you know this one, it is of course Jeff Wayne’s musical adaptation of the seminal H.G Wells science fiction novel War of the Worlds. Tonight’s show at the Kings Theatre is lifted directly from this musical, under licence. buy drugs online
Early impressions were of a minimalist set and pretty decent Victorian costume. I was, however, distinctly underwhelmed by the early crowd scenes (plenty of seemingly uncoordinated rushing around and rhubarb-rhubarb for my taste). In fact as we approached around a third of the way in, I was worried that I would not really enjoy my evening. I genuinely love both the original book and the musical version of the story, however, the evening mostly seemed to be descending into a kind of low budget interpretive dance. Zithromax pharmacy
This all changed, with the arrival of the evening’ s fir Order Doxycyclinest real rousing musical number. ‘Forever Autumn’ finally hit and suddenly the show started to make sense. Both Kevin Redfern (playing the narrator in his later avapro years) and Pete Westmorland (playing his younger self) Viagra Soft Tabs Online performed the number admirably and it finally felt like things had gotten going. Momentum was then somewhat lost with a rather passionless rendition of ‘Thunderchild’, especially disappointing as this represents probably my favourite Buy Nexium Online Buy Viagra Professional Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed Pharmacy song from the musical. This is a song that should feel genuinely rousing, yet those heights were never really hit. Buy antibiotics online without prescription. Online Drugstore. Cheap Levitra online
Part two of the evening opened with yet more interpretive dance which I shall gloss over, as this was merely a prelude to the evening’s stand out performer. Florida codes bank Vardenafilo levitra Matt Sackman, playing Parson Nathaniel, was simply excellent. His vocals were spot on and he injected real life into his role. He was well supported by Kerry McCrohon whose almost operatic delivery as Beth worked well at this stage.
Final mention should go to John Paul McCrohon for his strong vocals on Brave New World. Levitra generico Delivery and timing here were paramount and he really didn’t put a foot wrong. I would say, in summary, that if you can persevere through the (frankly, dull) dance portions then, for fans of the musical, there is a real treat to be had here.
You did not mention the music !
Not one mention about the live band!
well i dont know what production you saw but the one i saw was terrible and we left at half time..i was very upset as i had really looked forward to seeingit..and forever autumn was out of tune as was most of the singing..most was like a rendition of britains got talent and i wanted to press my buzzer..as for the huge alien..my 11 year old daughter could have done better..
people were laughing at how bad it was..i wasnt as i had paid money..i would be ashamed if i were a member of that cast but without being disrespectful i think most of the cast had issuesd anyway..as i said my 11 year old daughter could have done the whole thing better..the kings theatre should be ashamed that they allowed this show to go on..
Wow anon what a breath of fresh air you are! I really can’t wait to see one of your shows, you must be absolutely fantastic. It’s clear to me you have absolutely no idea what goes in to putting on a show. Out of tune? What absolute rubbish. You need your ears testing. Would love to see your version of the alien because if you knew anything at all about Jeff Wayne’s version of this show you would know it was an exact replica of the artwork. Always easy to say I could do better when you know absolutely nothing though isn’t it?
How can you use the words “without being disrespectful” and then say you would be ashamed if you were a member of the cast? I can only assume the cast were delighted you decided to leave at the interval. I assume you’ve asked the King’s for your money back along with the hundreds of others? Oh no? Just you then was it?
I personally think you had no idea what to expect and you personally didn’t enjoy the show – fair enough. But to slate it when you obviously have no credentials as far as producing a musical show or the props within it are concerned… well words fail me. I can only assume people were smiling and laughing at the fact you left the theatre because I can just imagine you were vocal in your distaste for the show. I’ve had the misfortune to be sitting near people like you on several occasions during my visits to the King’s. Thankfully over 2500 others disagree with you.
I wish you every success in your quest to find another amateur production as excellent as this was. You’ll be looking for a very long time.
no idea why my original comment was removed. maybe because i disagreed with the author. in which case, get a grip sunshine. bad review and the comment from ‘anon’ is absolute garbage as there was nothing like that of the kind. if this comment gets removed it shows just how idiotic and childish the original ‘reviewer’ is.

I think it is a matter of opinion, as are most things. One man’s meat is another man’s murder etc. Thank you all for your input.
