Ahhhhh, The Kraken Wakes – a building of two halves, with neither half wanting to take ownership. On one half you have the bar (“this is a pub”) and on the opposing side you have the venue (“this is a venue”)
The evening began with the news that Montage Populaire were no longer playing, which was closely followed by elusive equipment, squabbles and utter confusion as to what the hell was happening. Levitra generico 9pm saw no further information and there was much running around by staff and band members. Florida codes bank BUT, who was to blame? The pub? Or the venue?
With no side taking responsibility, the first band, cialis buy online Watashi Buy Levitra Online Calcutecs took to the stage. Despite half the venue being out of bounds (which was widely attributed to the Egyptian Hip Hop fans from Friday night) and temperatures of Arctic proportions, they warmed up sufficiently by the second song. Proffering an American college-rock fare, they stand out among many of their Portsmouth compatriots, who have a tendency towards shouty hardcore (Gawd Bless ‘Em) It was a more than competent set and showcased the Blitz Spirit bands are able to adopt when confronted with adversity
They were closely followed by Sheffield’s Shake Aletti who are from Sheffield (as we were reminded constantly by the singer) To look at them, you’ve got 3 lads who may, or may not, have been apprentice electricians in the not-too-distant past. Buy antibiotics online without prescription. Online Drugstore. Their sound is 80s pop with vocal effects akin to Victoria Beckham circa Dane Bowers (or maybe Cameo – remember “Word Up”?) That said, Buy Brand Cialis Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed it was catchy enough and I shall, henceforth, rename them “Shake Ur Booty” Also, they’re from Sheffield don’t you know!?
I was struggling to comprehend quite how or why Fenech-Soler were Buy musclerelaxant drugs playing at The Kraken, as part of their national tour. Cheap Levitra online buy drugs online Their equipment alone took up two-thirds of the venue and opening with “Battlefields”, they literally spilled offstage, filling the venue with a veritable onslaught of synths. As British gig-going etiquette dictates, the audience remained a respectable metre back from the band but this didn’t last long and by the time they launched into, upcoming single, “Demons” the crowd had surged forward and, for all intents and purposes, Fenech-Soler had an additional 6 members – albeit badly coordinated ones!
Ending their set with “Stop and Stare”, Fenech-Soler confirmed my initial suspicions, formed at Blissfields, that they are a bit good. Levitra reviews Despite earlier issues, the guys pulled a total blinder. Vardenafilo levitra My one complaint was the lack of sequins – although I was reliably informed that this was due to the pressures of touring having a negative effect on their handwashing schedule! It was a privilege to see them in such close proximity and kudos to The Kraken for the booking. Now, if only The Kraken Wakes could decide if it was a pub, or a venue, or both…….

Having also attended this gig I have a couple of further observations.
1. The ticket that I had said Doors 7pm, yet the doors to the venue section weren’t opened till 9.15 to the ‘gig’ section of the venue.
2. At no point did anybody actually check my ticket. I could have easily strolled into the venue for free.
3. Despite the apparent issues that there seemed to be between bands and venue promoter / management Fenech-Soler were utterly professional and played the gig as if they were playing a much bigger space.
