Interview: Enochian Theory

by Vicky Halliday

Where does the band name come from Cheap Levitra online?

The band name was created by Shaun(bass), Sam(drums) and myself(guitar/vocals/orchestral arrangements) when we were discussing band names when we first started.

I have an interest in the powers of religion and language, purely out of interest, and Enochia is the ‘supposed’ language used by angels to converse and is of around 1000 words.

It is reportedly a very powerful language and was brought to the world’s attention by John Dee, an astrologer, scientist and confidant to Queen Elizabeth II.

Despite this little history lesson, What were saying is that Order Doxycyclineit’s all theories and ideas. Religion is just that.

What are the major influences of Enochian Theory?

Life…that is out biggest influence.

If you weren’t in Enochian Theory, which band would you like to join? (you can be as wishful as you like here!)

Pink Floyd or Meshuggah for me, I’m sure Shaun and Sam would choose something else…but both those bands influence us somewhere along the line.

What has been on your iPod this year?

About ten million GB’s worth of music! Buy antibiotics online without prescription. Online Drugstore. It’s hard to choose something in particular, but I will say that for a recent tour I forgot my media player and we only had Sam’s music player in the van…sadly, he didn’t have much music on there except Genesis, bloody Craig David and Devin Townsend…so that was a very annoying tour musically!

But personally, I’ve been enjoying albums by Animals As Leaders and Efterklang…and as ever, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah and such.

I hear a lot of music daily and most of it doesn’t stick…but occasionally I’ll hear Buy Zoloft Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed a single or one song from a record that blows me away.

I’ve been digging back into bands I missed the first time around, like 16 Horsepower/Woven Hand and a lot of old rock bands. I’m also a big fan of Duke Ellington Buy Cialis Online and all the old blues/jazz acts of yore.

Which soundtrack do you wish you’d written and why Levitra reviews ?

Oh, good question!

There’s so many great soundtracks that, depending on my mood, I would have wished to have written.

I quite like the idea of writing a soundtrack for a film…it would be a massive undertaking…but I reckon we could do it either as a band or by myself. For our new record, I worked on all the orchestral arrangements myself and learnt a lot about music by just trial and error.

I love anything by Morricone or Zimmer…very cliché, but they aren’t the world’s best without reason. I studied soundtracks during my recent university course and learnt so much, focusing particularly on Zimmer and Gerrard’s ‘Gladiator’ soundtrack, as that had some very powerful arrangements.

I personally enjoyed the soundtrack to ‘Lost In Translation’, as obscure as that may be. Brian Reitzell and Roger.J.Manning did a great job in arranging the music, as well as selecting some excellent bands, such as Air and Death In Vegas

How much has living in grey old Portsmouth influenced the sound Vardenafilo levitra ?

I’d say that it has certainly shaped who we are as people and affected how we live our lives…and that in turn has affected or influenced the sound we’ve created because of who we are.

Portsmouth, and Britain as a whole, is a strange but bearable place, very densely populated for such a small space of land yet still surrounded by amazing countryside.

I’ve seen lots of crazy things in this city…hell, I’ve been involved in some of that crazy stuff that it probably better not to divulge…and that has definitely influenced who I am as a person…maybe making me somewhat more cynical as I get older…but hey…I think life eventually ‘gets’ to everyone!

Being that we write music about things around us, in our lives and such…I’d say being here has influenced our music one way of another.

Who would you have to play “Enochian Fest”?

I could list tons of bands for this…but are we talking a 3 day festival or an all dayer!?
;-)

I think I’d have a 3 day festival with the 1st day dedicated to rock bands like Tool, 16 Horsepower and such, with the 2nd day dedicated to more ‘metal’ bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Coalesce, Drowningman and all those ‘math metal’ bands…with the final day dedicated to a whole day of random acts that I perhaps shouldn’t like…but do. Hehehe

If you took part in “Britain’s Got Talent” what would be your special skil buy drugs online l?

Ummm…I’d want to be a guano ape…so I could lob s**t at Simon Cowell…who is, in fact, the enemy of all music and should be treated as such.

What do you hope to achieve before the end of the year?

Well…things have gone steadily upwards for the band these last 2 years with all our hard work and now we’ve signed to Mascot Records, things have improved ten-fold for the band. Florida codes bank Levitra generico

I hope to tour with some bigger bands before the year is out…and the way things are shaping up, that is very much a reality.

We’re due out on tour with some of Europe’s ‘progressive rock/metal’ heavyweights to support the release of our début album on the label…so that’s going to be excellent.

I’ve never had the opportunity to travel much, so being in a band that will be visiting many countries I’ve never visited will be an experience. I’m very much looking forward to visiting the Czech Republic, Hungary and some other places that we’ve got booked in to tour.

It’s all rather exciting…

Is there a favourite moment in Enochian Theory?  If so, what is this?

I’d have to say that there are a few fave moments to date, mainly the ones where we’ve played a bigger festival and blown people away…but I’d say the moment when Mascot came along and said they believed in what we were doing and wanted to offer us a 4 album deal.

That really made things very real for me then…and believe me, we will work very hard (as ever) to continue to build this band. I know it’s lofty and there’s a lot to do…but I want this band to be one of the best progressive rock/metal bands in the world…and there is no reasons why we can’t be.
