Joel Ransom is the man at the helm, the ringmaster if you will, and does enjoy interviewing people. The radio show recently changed from pre-recorded (at The Browns Hotel) to live, was that a bit of a shock to the system and how did you cope?
I didn’t cope. Either Higgy (Colour Masks) or Squidge (Leigh Mary Stokes Band) and, of course, Chris Perrin (awol), produced the hotel show as i’m a technophobe. I can’t even use Word. Luckily I am good with actual words and found it easy to convey what I wanted from them.

The decision was easy. Go for the biggest and the best of the local bands, but none of them were available so I ended up with the NineNinetyNines, The Rubicon, Lucifer’s Gold, The Boy I Used To Be and Grant Melin.

I do maintain that air, don’t I? I really don’t know.
I think it’s because i never know what Huw Olesker’s going to do or say it makes behave a bit. And now Kirsty Mitchell’s back on I have double the worry.
To be fair to everyone on the show, I don’t really have a lot of controlling to do. We spend so much time laughing and saying things we can’t broadcast when songs are playing we all know we have to sort it out by the time the song ends. It’s a good system: ‘Be offensive, but only when others can’t hear’.
You have been covering the breakfast slot on Express FM recently, if Chris Moyles got fired would you consider a move to the mainstream?

Loads of things on the way: We’re recording a hotel show in the next couple of weeks and, hopefully, actually doing a show live from the hotel too.
We’re at Blissfields festival and Secret Garden Party, where Lucy Mills will be talking to everyone and anyone she can in a sensible fashion and Huw and I will be causing as much mayhem as possible.
